The network is currently little used by cyclists, however, it's great a change from riding in circles around near by Cannock and Sutton Park. The terrain is fairly flat or gently rolling - it's challenge lies rather in the distances that can be covered and the surface conditions as it can suffer from mud in the winter but that's what MTBing is all about!
Hopwas Woods is an area of forestry across two hills. The area is small but the hills drop steeply into a valley and there is some nice hidden single track. Officially there are only two rights of way through the woods, however, walkers, cyclists and horse riders all leave the path in the north side of the woods. There is an army firing range to the north east of the woods so don't enter that area if the red flags are flying.
