Description: Climbs from the junction with B3 and B4 into Weeford Park wood. The north end can get moderately muddy in places. As it enters Weeford Park wood it drops sharply and then climbs again. This section through the trees can get very muddy and is often churned up by vehicles. Exiting the woods it drops down to the A38. At this point, to follow the track, go through the gate and follow the track north that runs on the east side of the fence for the A38. This ends opposite the start of the B29 track at the quarry entrance.
Weeford Park woods are private land and leaving the bridle way is prohibited.

Description: This track is classified as ‘Other route with public access’. From the junction with B1 and B4 it is a metalled track that climbs up to the woods and then drops steeply down on a metalled, but often muddy road. At the bottom of the hill is a wide but shallow ford with a bed of pebbles, this is easily crossable on a bike. From here it becomes a minor road up to the A5.

Description: From the west, climbs steeply up the side of a field then drops to a gate. This section is normally dry and good going. On the other side of the gate it skirts the edge of the field along some woods to another gate. The section just before this gate is often extremely boggy and may well entail a bit of paddling. Though the gate a woodland path takes you to the junction with B29 and B6.

Description: Rises from west until it comes to the quarry road at 162048. This section of the track is a good dirt track initially but then can get quite wet with a couple of long wide puddles. After the water it has a good surface of small round stones. At the quarry, either cross the quarry road and onto the marked bridleway section or follow the quarry road itself that runs next to the bridleway. The bridleway can be a little tricky to ride as it is surfaced with smooth round stones – if you make it down the hill you will probably bog down trying to climb up the other side. The bridleway re-joins the quarry road to drop down to the main road opposite Hopswas woods.

Description: Climbs slightly from the west. From the road follow the small lane past the houses and to the small gate at the start of the bridle track. The surface is moderate with a few large stones and a bit of a rut at the start which can catch you out if riding westward, down hill.

Description: From the south (main road) enter the woods and follow the main track that bears to the left. Initially a good forest track but can get a little sandy and soft towards the north in the summer. B17 branches to the right after about one and a quarter km. From there B16 heads out of the woods along a good sandy dirt track, down a slight drop and along the side of the firing range. It then goes diagonally across (look for a small sign) the grassy firing range and out to the road past the ‘gas’ building. Be aware that if the red flags are flying then military firing range is in use and you should not venture past the flags. Also be aware that Hopwas woods are private property and you are not allowed to leave the bridle paths.

Description: A loop that goes from the junction with B16 through the woods to the canal and back. Going in a clockwise direction, a brief climb on a stone surfaced track leads onto a very muddy track over the hill and then down (still a little muddy but fast) to the canal. Continuing clock wise, a steep slightly metalled climb then a less severe down hill on a good surface back to B17. Be aware that if the red flags are flying then military firing range is in use and you should not venture past the flags. Also be aware that Hopwas woods are private property and you are not allowed to leave the bridle paths.
