Shenstone Audaxes: date for 2010 is 18th April.
Audax UK is the club for long distance touring cyclists. Audax members organise a large number of none competitive events throughout the year. The event distances range from 50km to 1400km. On an Audax event each entrant is given a route card of directions to follow and a 'Brevet Card'. There are several check points along the route (often in cafes and tea shops) where the rider must get their Brevet signed. The events have generous time allowances and as they are not races there is also a minimum time in which the ride can be completed. Audax rides are great social events where you can meet friends, old and new, whilst discovering lovely countryside. You do not need to join Audax UK to take part in their rides.
200km Castleton Classic
The ride starts at 08:00hrs.
This year I have revised the route to avoid Buxton and the A6 through Doveholes.
The ride will start as normal to Ipstones, then continue along the Morridge past the Mermaid Pub and then right through Longnor and up the Millers Dale to Tideswell, cross the A623 and left to Castleton, and then return via Bradwell, Bakewell and Ashbourne.

160km Derbyshire Dales
The old favourite. This 100 mile ride remains unaltered for the second year. The ride takes you through Ipstones, Hartington, Ashbourne, Wyaston, Tutbury and home via Wittington. http://www.aukweb.net/cal/calsolo.php?Ride=09-125
102kM Staffordshire Lanes
A shorter ride, but still a bit of a challenge for those of you who don’t want to be out all day. The ride takes you through Cannock Chase to Abbots Bromley, Hoar Cross, Scotch Hills, Barton and the café at Rosliston. Return via Chilcote, Clifton, and Whittington. http://www.aukweb.net/cal/calsolo.php?Ride=09-124
